Nearly 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on the start of the week after powerful weather events passed over the region, producing strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.

Locals reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, approximately 1,000 residents in the southern state also experienced energy failures after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 requests for assistance across the area, primarily for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

At one point on yesterday, over 28k power users in Victoria were without power.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both regions.

Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
